If you\u2019re human, it\u2019s probably safe to assume that you\u2019ve made some pretty\u00a0 bad decisions in your life.\u00a0 I know I have.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bad decisions include everything from lying to our parents, failing to study for a test, hanging out with irresponsible friends, choosing the wrong college or profession, getting involved in an unhealthy\u00a0 relationship, wasting money on unnecessary items, to buying a house that wasn\u2019t a good investment.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Bad decisions aren\u2019t hard to come by.\u00a0 And we often don\u2019t see them until it\u2019s too late.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Not all decisions are created equal.\u00a0 Some are have a stronger impact than others.\u00a0 I bet it wouldn\u2019t take long for you to name what you consider your worst decision ever.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

The good news about the above list is that they can all be repaired or overcome with some amount of work, effort, and time.\u00a0 Generally, we have the opportunity to fix our mistakes.\u00a0 That is unless the outcome is fatal.\u00a0 There are no second chances when it comes to death.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My son, Dalton, made unmistakably the worst decision of his life on May 14, 2020, when he ended his own life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

But thankfully, as a young boy,\u00a0 he made a critical decision that changed the trajectory of eternity for him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dalton\u2019s best decision rescued him from his worst decision.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His best decision came at the age of 7 when he accepted Christ into his heart and became a follower of Jesus.\u00a0 This clearly didn\u2019t crown him as perfect or prevent him from making mistakes and bad choices.\u00a0 And it won\u2019t do that for you either.\u00a0 Being a Christian doesn\u2019t grant any of us perfection.\u00a0 God is fully aware we will all live with a sin nature as long as we\u2019re on earth.\u00a0 The essential factor is that Dalton\u2019s willingness to put his trust in Christ delivered him straight into the arms of God when he took his last breath.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You may be wondering,\u00a0 \u201cHow was he <\/span>rescued<\/span> if he died.?\u201d\u00a0 Rescued and died in the same sentence seems like an oxymoron.<\/span><\/p>\n

The answer has everything to do with his relationship with Jesus.\u00a0 Because he said <\/span>yes<\/span> to Christ, God said <\/span>no<\/span> to his eternal death.\u00a0 Instead, Dalton began a new life in Heaven that will last forever. <\/span>A gift that Jesus offers all of us for free<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It all starts with your desire for a relationship with Jesus so you, too, can be rescued from eternal death.\u00a0 It\u2019s simple, free, and offers endless hope while living in a pain-filled world.\u00a0 You don\u2019t have to \u201cclean\u201d your life up before God will accept you.\u00a0 He invites you just as you are right now.\u00a0 You are enough for Him.\u00a0 God loves you and me with unending grace and mercy no matter how many mistakes we\u2019ve made.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

None of us knows if or when our next decision will become our worst.\u00a0 Fatal decisions are frequently camouflaged as routine, logical, or even fun.\u00a0 Driving too fast because you are late to work.\u00a0 Getting in a car with someone who drank more than you realized.\u00a0 Turning in front of someone you thought was far enough away.\u00a0 Taking your eyes off the road to read a text message.\u00a0 Ingesting a pill you thought was safe, not realizing it was laced with a lethal ingredient.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fatal, split-second decisions may not give you the opportunity to stop and contemplate your eternal residence.<\/p>\n
